Frequently Asked Questions

We already have smart devices. Can we use PointCentral?

In addition to Alarm.com products, PointCentral integrates with Z-wave-compatible products from a wide range of top manufacturers. Explore our smart devices to see if your existing hardware is compatible with PointCentral.

Many of our products are turnkey solutions, meaning they’re easy for property managers and staff maintenance workers to install. For larger or more complex installations, you can use one of our authorized service providers. Note: The Smart Water Valve+Meter must be installed by a licensed plumber.

Calculating ROI involves weighing the cost of PointCentral solutions—initial setup costs and ongoing fees—against the potential benefits.

Some of these benefits, including energy savings, operational efficiencies, and reduced vacancies, will contribute directly to your bottom line and are easy to quantify in dollars. Other benefits, such as increased resident satisfaction, less stress for property managers, and improved security, will have indirect but still equally valuable impacts on ROI.

On top of this, you also need to weigh the benefits of precautionary investments. For example, the Smart Water Valve+Meter can automatically detect leaks and shut off the water mains. A burst water pipe may be a rare occurrence, but if it happens and you don’t have a Smart Valve+Meter, it can cause tens of thousands of dollars in damage.

For assistance calculating the ROI benefits of PointCentral solutions, our sales representatives can help. They’ll ask you a series of questions, plug your information into an ROI calculator, and then generate a final number to guide your decision.
